Solitary Islands Marine Park
The NMSC is located adjacent to the Solitary Islands Marine Park. This is a thriving and diverse marine habitat, home to over 280 species of fish, four species of turtle, 90 species of coral, and large numbers of temperate and tropical marine invertebrates. During the cooler months many migrating humpback whales can also be seen traversing the park, and dolphins are common residents. The Park is distinctive as an area on Australia's Pacific Ocean rim where the northern tropical waters meet the southern temperate waters resulting in an abundance of diverse sealife.

Stretching along 75km of coastline north from Coffs Harbour, the 71,100 hectare park has everything marine enthusiasts could desire, from superb diving and snorkelling to beautiful beaches, surf and magnificent whale watching.
